Captain Jimmy: Bio

Captain Jimmy

Captain Jimmy has been lliving on or in the water most of his life. He has been teaching diving since the early 70's and teaches sailing both through his own business Whiteheart Oceanics and through Windworks Sailing Club.
The Capt. lives on a 38 ft sailboat near the Ballard Locks in Seattle, WA with his bestmate Brenda. Check out her new children's book at http://www.lulu.com/content/1328627.
To keep his best mate in the lifestyle she has become accustomed to Capt. Jimmy works as a model maker at the local airplane company. He is counting the months till he retires and we think he is at about two as of this update.
His music career started in high school with the typcial garage band. He will tell you they wanted to be the next Beatles and it never occured to him they weren't any good. About 10 years ago a very good friend, Greg Bandy, got him back into playing. With Greg's unexpected death Capt. Jimmy was motivated to become what Greg had thought he could be. Now several years and CD's later his music has been heard and enjoyed by many.
When people ask what kind of music it is he calls it "Kiss off corporate life America, go sailing music"
Whether you sail or not his music will have you dreaming and thinking about what is really important in life.
Always smiling and never worrying, Capt.Jimmy keeps all of those close to him focused on the mission. His famous saying "Don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff" and "you worry when I worry" is how he lives his life.
His music was produced in a small studio at the Marina where he lives but the last CD, Harbors of Your Soul, was recorded live at Cascade Studio with the Castaway Band. The beautiful voice of Julie Angell accompanies him on many of his songs. Ken Grant provides the wonderful violin, piano, and keyboard music.
Give his music a listen and be sure and e-mail him and let him know what you think. He loves his fans the most and if you send him a picture he will put it on his castaway fan page of his website.
